About Susan

Susan has been counseling life sciences companies in a variety of roles for 25 years, including as a licensing attorney at Cooley Godward, as a solo practitioner for private and public life sciences companies, and as an in-house counsel with Zymergen, Danisco US, Nuvelo, and Entelos.

Susan has extensive background in intellectual property licensing and general and commercial contract law, and has negotiated and drafted research and development agreements, license agreements, SaaS and other service agreements, MTAs, manufacturing and supply agreements, and a variety of pharmaceutical and other collaboration agreements. 

Susan’s experience spans biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, predictive analytics, industrial biotechnology, animal nutrition, nutraceuticals, synthetic biology, and fuels.

Susan is based in San Francisco and has been actively involved in the San Francisco Bay Area life sciences and legal communities throughout her career.
